During the past six years I have held the positions of Creative Project Manager/Lead Designer and Project Manager/Creative Director for two web development companies in Pennsylvania. Today I am the Creative Director and Founding Partner of M2Technology, a Web Design, Development, Hosting & Computer Networking company located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Being both and Project Manager and Lead Designer has been somewhat of a dichotomy. As Project Manager I oversee the web development lifecycle while working to ensure the timely completion within budgetary constraints. As Lead Designer I continually pushed for innovation, strong visual aesthetics and overall functionality. As a result my positions have required a strong sense of balance, focus, communication and organization.
Due to the experience I have gained working in this industry I am well versed in the myriad of technologies involved in the field of web development. I have a proven track record for taking all projects from concept to completion with the client's total satisfaction in mind.

As a professional working in a highly technical field I am passionate about great design and functional, efficient programming. I often stand on my "soap-box" espousing the need for websites that "do things" and designs that have visual impact. To me these are the key ingredients for a successful website and Internet presence.

Image is Everything

For businesses to have credibility in the eyes of their target market, the appearance of their website is extremely important. I work with clients to educate them about principles of web design and how this impacts the notion of perceived value in the minds of their "audience."
Great design presents a healthy image and can solidify the perceived value that a company or small business offers. As a designer I work with many goals in mind, however, throughout the entire process I design to ensure an emotional connection with the website visitor. A professionally designed website will instill greater confidence in potential clients that are unfamiliar with the products and services offered by companys in all industries.

 Form Follows Function
Louis Sullivan, an influential Chicago based architect, coined the phrase "Form Follows Function." Taken literally he suggests that the design of a building should be appropriate for its purpose. The same concept holds true for web design and development.

When I begin a new project I work closely with clients to understand their individual needs and to learn more about their specific reasons for having a website or redeveloping an exising website.
Clients that have embraced the technology of the Internet understand that their website allows them to extend their products and services to a wider target market.
With this in mind I develop an strong sense of what is visually appropriate and what functionality would be most beneficial for a client's specific needs. I also present the concept that their website is a powerful business tool that can add tremendous value to their daily lives.

Communicate!
A well organized, easy to navigate website allows business owners and individuals to reach potential clients in a manner unlike all other forms of advertising.
Having the ability to present vital information about your business is an invaluable marketing asset. Contact information, hours of operation, online catalogs, gallerys and brochures, product specials and relavent facts about your products and services can add to your ability to educate your target demographic.
The nature of the Internet allows everyone to provide 24 hour service for existing and potential clients while also being an efficient, cost-effective form advertising.
From my "soap-box" I always stress the notion that a professionally developed website can be an ideal marketing and promotional tool that that offers great rewards for the site owner.
